Dim sum is a type of Chinese cuisine that consists of delicious buns, dumplings, and other bite-sized food. When you go to a dim sum restaurant, you can taste a lot of different dishes and share them with friends.

Most dim sum is served with tea, often during the time of day you might be hungry for brunch. A typical dim sum menu includes steamed buns, pan-fried and deep-fried dumplings, soups, rolled noodles, savory cakes, and rice. Each dish is usually several small servings, so you can order many of them and have a taste of each. The word dim sum comes from the Cantonese tim sam, "appetizer," or literally, "touch the heart."
